How We Pick Fixes and Products

Here is exactly how a HassleFix guide gets made, so you can decide how much to trust it.

1. We start from a real search

Each guide answers something people actually type into a search box, like "why does my air fryer smoke". We use the exact wording as the starting point so the page answers the question you asked.

2. The free fix comes first

Many home problems have a free or very cheap fix: cleaning a part, changing a setting, using something you already own. Those come before any product, in the order we would try them.

3. We read, we don't test

We do not test products by hand. What we do is read the manufacturer's manual and instructions, read owner reviews with a focus on the 1-star and 2-star ones (where the real problems show up), and look at price history so we don't send you to a product at a silly price.

4. One specific product per pick

When a product is worth buying, we link to one exact listing, not a search page. Each pick says what it fixes, who it is for, and one honest downside. Many guides have a best pick, a budget pick and sometimes an upgrade, so you can choose.

5. We tell you what to skip

Every guide names at least one thing that is not worth your money or that makes the problem worse.

How we make money

When you buy through our Amazon links we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is why you can read everything on HassleFix for free. It does not change which product we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure.
